👨‍🚀 Greetings, Commanders!

💬 In the “In Touch With Devs” segment we tell about the ins and outs of Space Arena development. Within this segment, we answer your questions and give our feedback on the most interesting players’ game suggestions. We hope that you find the “In Touch With Devs” segment interesting and useful! If you have questions about game mechanics, you can always contact our community manager. We will pass them on to the development team and will publish the answers later!

💡 This time, we collected and answered questions regarding the Gaussian Shotgun and Gaussian War Shotgun modules, Galaxy Coordinates drop chances, thrust functioning features, “Explosion Radius of Power Module” parameter, and the Clan system. Also, the development team reviewed some of the players’ suggestions.

Question from Shields is Overrated: A chance drop of all galaxies from class battles?

Answer: We do not plan to publish precise data. But approximate chances could be calculated by observing the loot from Class Battles.

Question from [TFF] Isac: How many shots fire Gaussian Shotgun? And Gaussian War Shotgun?

Answer: Gaussian Shotgun has a single fire mode. Each shot has 11 bullets. Gaussian War Shotgun has a short bursts fire mode. Each burst includes 3 shots, and each shot has 11 bullets too.

Question from RabbleSupreme: Why and when some ships have received extra lives (Defeats before repair parameter)? Would love to do it with other ships.

Answer: Some ships may receive “extra lives” as well. Right now we can’t say for sure.

Question from SteelVise: I would like to understand the thrust relationship between 2 ships in a battle. Lately, I generally run heavy on ion drives. If the opponent has some thrust I get good maneuvers. If the opponent has near zero thrust my ship often stalls out and faces them nearly stationary. I don’t feel it makes sense. How can a zero thrust make my huge thrust potential zero?

Answer: That’s a good one! First of all, we would like to remind all Commanders that ships do not have the mass parameter, and all ships’ parameters you can see by tapping on the info button – coefficients. They are multiplied by the mass of all modules that are placed on a ship. Thus, we can count the ship’s speed (not including the parameters of all placed engines).

To all Commanders, who also wondered about the thrust functioning features, especially how to stabilize their ship’s thrust potential, we can advise the following:

1) If you feel a lack of thrust during the battles, place Warp Drive. That will help you to appear right next to the enemy ship that barely moves and damage it.

2) Focus on laser ship builds. Thus, the enemy ship that barely moves will receive damage in any case.

3) If you still need more thrust power (for example, for your mine build) – place ordinary 1×1 and Ion engines and Afterburner modules as much as possible. By the way, in that case, you may ignore Vectored Thruster modules. And don’t forget to bear in mind the mass of all placed modules!

Question from Konstantin Karetnikov: If I reduce the “Explosion Radius of Power Module” to zero, the explosion won’t damage nearby cells (modules), right?

Answer: That’s right!

Question from Nickolay Kvochkin: Do you have any plans to add the letter counter in the clan description/chat window? Or, maybe, you plan to remove the message length limit?

Answer: Right now we do not plan to remove the message length limit. However, we will consider adding the mentioned letter counter.

Suggestion from FINT BRO: Please add more missions into the campaign.

Answer: We do have such plans. Follow the news!

Suggestion-feedback from Konstantin Pavlov: After the 10 or 20 defeats in the Class Battles mode, Commander should be guaranteed to receive certain Galaxy Coordinates. Otherwise, the newbies won’t simply play in this mode.

Answer: We do not plan to implement this change into the game at the moment. Since the victory in the Class Battle mode is a matter of the efficient build, ship, and modules level upgrades, we recommend focusing on chips and blueprints farm by participating in the in-game events and observing the Shop section for any appropriate daily deals. Plus, we want to add additional ways of earning chips and blueprints in the future.

🤔 Commanders, thank you for your questions! What topics should we cover in the next “In Touch With Devs” post? We will be glad to hear your suggestions and ideas for this segment!
