👨‍🚀 Greetings, Commanders!

💡 The team continues the “SpaceMyths” segment, where we fact-check popular myths among players. If you have some myths to check, please send them to community managers!

This time we decided to check the myth regarding the difficulty adjustment feature. In short, this feature allows players to face weaker opponents after several defeats in a row. And here are the Myth conditions:

❓ Will Commander face opponents with a lower number of ranking points and/or with lower-level ships after the several defeats in a row?

We decided to conduct twenty Arena battles to check this myth. Ten Arena battles were conducted on the account with less than 1000 ranking points and another ten Arena battles on the same account after a small grind which allowed us to rise to the 1000+ rating.

The first ten battles were conducted on the account with the following parameters:
Level: 46
Rating: 899
Ship: Mjollnir Mk2

Here are the data of these ten battles – the ship model that was met and the number of ranking points of the opponent (all battles were lost via the self-destruction feature):
Thane (908);
Thane (881);
Thane (879);
Thane (900);
Thane (900);
Thane (905);
Thane (881);
Thane (874);
Thane (874);
Thane (879).

The last ten battles were conducted on the account with the following parameters:
Level: 46
Rating: 1211
Ship: Mjollnir Mk2

And here are the similar data of these ten battles:
Mjollnir Mk2 (1214);
Mjollnir Mk2 (1210);
Mjollnir Mk2 (1202);
Mjollnir Mk2 (1202);
Thane (1198);
Mjollnir Mk2 (1189);
Mjollnir Mk2 (1186);
Mjollnir Mk2 (1181);
Mjollnir Mk2 (1182);
Mjollnir Mk2 (1175).

So from here, HQ staff can make the following conclusions: it looks like the in-game difficulty adjustment feature really exists. There is a chance that approximately after the 6th or 7th Arena battle defeat Commander may face opponents with a lower number of ranking points. However, it has nothing to do with the models of the ships. Still, HQ staff needs some time to run additional tests to make a final myth verdict.

💬 That is all for today, Commanders! By the way, what do you think? Will the myth be confirmed or busted? You can share your thoughts about this in our Discord community!

And see you all at the Arena!
