💡 The HQ is releasing the sixteenth episode of the “SpaceMyths” segment. Commander [Deft]Turbo submitted this myth, and he was the one who also tested it.

The myth concerns the Junk Launcher module and warp jumps, specifically whether the range parameter of the Junk Launcher is considered when calculating the warp jump distance on a ship.

Here are the conditions of the myth proposed by Commander [Deft]Turbo:

❓ Does the Warp Drive take into account the range of the Junk Launcher module when calculating the warp jump distance?

To verify this myth, the Commander made two builds on the Orkaan ship and tested them in Campaign mode. The first build was filled with armor and reactors, while also having a single Small Laser weapon and no Junk Launcher module. The second build was filled with Junk Launcher modules and reactors, while also having a single Small Laser. The first build was tested in 55 battles, while the second build was tested in 50 battles.

The goal for the first build was to count the number of warp jumps after which the ship began firing immediately. This refers to warp jumps made within the range of the only weapon placed on the ship – the 1×1 Small Laser. The goal for the second build was the same.

The results are as follows:

• After 55 battles (372 jumps) with the same opponent and no Junk Launcher, the ship made a warp jump within the range of the only placed weapon in approximately 83% of cases.
• After 50 battles (382 jumps) with Junk Launchers and the same opponent, the ship made a warp jump within the range of the only installed weapon in approximately 28% of cases.

The HQ also received confirmation from Arena staff: the range of the Junk Launcher module is indeed considered when calculating the warp jump distance.
