💬 In the “In Touch With Devs” segment we tell about the ins and outs of Space Arena development. Within this segment, we answer your questions and give our feedback on the most interesting players’ game suggestions.

💡 This time, we collected and answered questions regarding the laser weapons and penetrating damage aspects, ship’s behavior, and explosion mechanics features. Also, the development team reviewed some of the players’ suggestions.

Question from Philip Antin: What happens to a laser weapon with a long firing duration if the ship’s power momentarily goes out while it’s firing?

Answer: The ray, which has already started, will continue to deal damage. However, the new one won’t start.

Question from Pzy1337 SR.Mad-Krsnik: How many modules/cells do penetration damage affect? Is it the same for each penetration weapon?

Answer: There is no limit if we talk about the number of modules or cells. It all depends on the penetrating damage amount on one side and the module’s armor/health or cell health on the other side.

Question from Nikolay Kvochkin: Is it possible that the support ship does not see the target (I mean the enemy ship) if the distance between them becomes too long? And, as a result, support ships just float on somewhere on the battleground?

Answer: If the support ship has no engines (no engines with Thrust Power or Warp Drive module to make a warp jump), and the distance to the target is larger than the range of the shot, then the support ship will just float on in space without firing during the battle.

Question from TOMFOOLERY: Are there any plans for adding more non-blueprint galactic carriers in the near future? Are there any plans to add a new corvette or a new cruiser to compete with sparrows and elks in their class battles?

Answer: In the nearest updates new galactic carriers are not planned to be added. However, we are planning to add new ships in most current classes in the future.

Question from Dima Kus: If the reactor explodes and there are no modules around it, will the damage explosion transfer to other modules which are not in the range?

Answer: If there are no modules in the explosion radius, then the damage caused by the explosion will not apply to other modules that are beyond this radius.

Suggestion from Dima Kus: Add something like Colosseum to the game, where you could place in-game bets and guess who will win based on the parameters of the ships.

Answer: Interesting idea. We will study it in greater detail to see is it possible to implement such a game mode in further game updates.

Suggestion-feedback from Taras Samigulin: The second last game campaign is easy as a pie, the enemy does not have support ships. The rewards are not valuable at level 38. Bad.

Answer: We are planning to refine the game campaigns in further updates.
